Introduction to Aesthetics (INTRO 101)
The American Association of Aesthetic Medicine and Surgery (AAAMS) offers an overview and introduction to the art and science of facial aesthetics. The topics covered include facial anatomy for dermal fillers, the aging process and the concept of Facial BeautiΦication.
This aesthetics training course begins with a brief introduction describing both the art and science of facial aesthetics and how they are inextricably linked. Students are introduced to the concept of “Facial BeautiΦication,” with an emphasis on the Greek symbol Φ, or Phi, described in this program as the Golden Ratio of Beauty. Students are also introduced to the ideal facial dimensions and how they relate to the overall appearance of the face.
In addition, students receive an in-depth look at facial anatomy, described as Facenatomy. The course ends with a discussion of the aging process and how to apply the 4Rs of Aesthetics to restore beauty and youth in the face.
