FAQ
-
This course is designed for licensed medical professionals with minimal to no prior experience in aesthetic procedures who want to earn certification in Botox, dermal fillers, and chemical peels — entirely online, without traveling to a training facility. Eligible enrollees include physicians (MD, DO), nurses (RN, NP), physician assistants (PA), and dentists (DDS, DMD, BDS).
-
Upon completing both modules, you will receive training certifications in botulinum toxin (Botox), dermal fillers, and chemical peels, along with a certificate of completion from AAAMS.
-
The course consists of two modules. Module 1 is a 17-hour online self-paced series covering facial aesthetics and chemical peels. Module 2 is a full day of live virtual hands-on training in Botox and dermal fillers. Both modules are completed entirely remotely — no travel required.
-
During the virtual hands-on training day, each student is individually trained one-on-one by an expert AAAMS educator while the rest of the small group observes virtually. For Botox, you perform a full assessment, marking, and injection technique on a real local volunteer model of your own choosing, with live coaching and feedback from your instructor. For dermal fillers, AAAMS ships “Margaret” — a true-to-life human head mannequin — directly to your home along with all the medical supplies needed to practice injection techniques on the upper, mid-, and lower facial regions.
-
Class size is strictly limited to a maximum of 3 participants, guaranteeing each student meaningful one-on-one time with the instructor — even in a fully virtual setting.
-
Yes. Completion of the Facial Aesthetics 101 Series online curriculum (Module 1) is mandatory before attending the virtual hands-on training session. This ensures every participant arrives on the live training day fully prepared with the foundational knowledge needed to practice safely and confidently.
-
The course totals 17 hours of online self-paced curriculum plus 6 hours of live virtual hands-on training.
-
Your enrollment includes both modules, the “Margaret” mannequin head and all medical supplies shipped to your home, customizable practice marketing tools (patient intake forms, consent forms, policy and procedures), a 12-month AAAMS Basic Associate Membership, instructional videos, and your certificate of completion.
-
Yes. Up to 17 CE/CME credits are available when this course is combined with the Facial Aesthetics 101 Series (FA 101).
-
The standard course fee is $3,450. Contact AAAMS at (310) 274-9955 for information on any current reduced rates or promotions.
-
Virtual training offers maximum flexibility and eliminates the cost and time of travel. You can complete Module 1 at any time from any location, and the live hands-on training day is conducted entirely over video — with real patient practice and direct instructor coaching. For practitioners in markets outside Los Angeles, or those with busy clinical schedules, the virtual format delivers the same certification outcome as the in-person course.
-
Both courses cover the same curriculum and lead to the same certifications in Botox, dermal fillers, and chemical peels. The key difference is format. The Hybrid course (AES 101 H) requires attending an in-person training day at AAAMS headquarters in Beverly Hills, where you practice on real patients on-site, with a class size of up to 9 participants. The Virtual course (AES 101 V) is completed entirely online — your mannequin is shipped to you, you source your own local volunteer for Botox practice, and class size is capped at just 3 participants for an even more intimate experience.
-
Enrollment includes a 12-month AAAMS Aesthetics Network membership — the only professional social network for aesthetic practitioners in North America — offering discounts on AAAMS training courses, access to quarterly virtual case presentations and demos, an open forum of like-minded professionals, free mini-courses, and a certificate of membership.
